How Industriepalast celebrated Christmas

 In Industriepalast Berlin

We want look back at “the good old times” and tell you how the team of Industriepalast celebrated Christmas 2013.

All of us were in a Christmas mood anyways since the beginning of December. There was no way around getting Christmas feelings because our whole hostel lobby was decorated with Christmas stars, Christmas balls in the windows and even some fake snow on our old deco-TV.

In the office, there was an advent calendar for our staff and every day, a different department got lucky with eating some sweets. The first and second advent passed by in our Christmassy hostel and finally, the 12th December had arrived – the day of our hostel Christmas party. Everybody came together once again before the start of the next year: managers, housekeeping staff, securities, kitchen staff, our caretaker, barkeepers and receptionists of Industriepalast.

Already in the morning of the 12th December, the hostel smelled wonderfully like Christmas. Two of our receptionists got busy in the dining room with baking loads of Christmas cookies for our company partners, like for instance Original Berlin Tours. On that day, everybody found an excuse to go to the dining room and in the end, we all happily tasted the left overs. In the afternoon, we moved on to the more sporty part of the Christmas party: bowling in Friedrichshain. Of course, some of us found bowling more fun than others; but in the end, there were only happy winners and good losers. Feeling warmed-up, our staff went on to the next, rather inactive, stop of the evening: to the restaurant “Fünf-Ländereck”.

Here, we got together in the cozy arched cellar of the homely restaurant and enjoyed the delicious cold and warm buffet. After dinner, we all had the opportunity to get rid of our useless old stuff while playing Secret Santa. Very quickly, everyone’s favorite presents became clear and it was basically all about exchanging the gifts in order to get the one you like most. Also, the best bowling player of the evening received an official bowling certificate: At this point, congratulations to our caretaker Andy once again.

And that’s how a fun and cozy Christmas party came to an end. We hope that you all had a nice Christmas too and a good start of the year 2014. Let’s hope that the next Christmas will be as cool as the previous one.
